The Syringa Tree opened at The Baxter Theatre Centre, in Cape Town, and is proving to be a phenomena. Hailed by critics as a tour-de-force, as majestic, and as triumphant, the truest and best measure of its success is watching audiences of all colors leap to their feet, in laughter and tears, at the end. They often just don't let Pam leave the stage. Like nothing we've seen before in the size and depth of the reaction, and by far the most gratifying yet. Many thanks to Mannie Manim, for being as persistant as he was in getting us there! We will add press reviews to that section of this site as they appear.

Pamela Gien returns to the theatre where she trained (ART, in Cambridge Mass), and the critics respond, calling it breathtaking, and comparing the journey the audience is taken on to that Marcel Proust takes his readers on! See more in the press review section.

We were very glad to see the audience reviews from this week, saying how welcome and helpful this one bit of staged "drama" is amidst the real dramas being played out every day. We resumed shows on Thursday, hoping that our plays messages of healing and humanity could be a source of solace and sanity for those who choose to look for it in the theater. Our thoughts and prayers go out and join with yours.
